PM Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Discuss Bilateral Ties at UNGA
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Iran’s President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During their discussions, the two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, underscoring the importance of strengthening friendly ties and expanding cooperation for mutual benefit.
PM Sharif emphasized the need to enhance trade, investment, connectivity, and cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Iran. He also reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the Palestine conflict, urging for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and a halt to the ongoing aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to mutual support and paved the way for further deepening of the partnership between the two nations.
