Pakistan’s Retired General Gets Key Role In Defense Agreement
ISLAMABAD: (Mudassar Iqbal) – Retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mehmood has been appointed as the first Secretary-General of the Makkah Defense Agreement, according to the Foreign Office.
The Foreign Office said the Secretary-General will head the alliance’s General Secretariat, which is scheduled to be established in Riyadh.
The Makkah Joint Defense Agreement is a trilateral defense pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, aimed at strengthening cooperation among the three countries in the field of security and defense.
Under the agreement, an armed attack against any one of the three participating countries will be regarded as an attack against all three, reflecting their commitment to collective defense.
