Trump Praises Shehbaz Sharif at UNGA, Calls Him a Terrific Man

US President Donald Trump – (Special Correspondent/Weeb Desk) – US President Donald Trump praises Shehbaz Sharif at UNGA, calling him a terrific man. Trump made the remark while addressing world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly this week.

The US leader said Pakistan is a great country and Sharif is a terrific man. He added that Sharif had called him personally just to say thank you.

Trump said the Pakistani prime minister thanked him for something very important. He was talking about the ceasefire that ended the recent conflict between Pakistan and India.

According to Trump, his role in stopping that fighting saved around 30 million lives. He has often spoken about his part in ending the standoff between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

The US president also claimed he has now settled eight wars during his time in office. He did not list every conflict during this part of his speech.

Trump also spoke about the war with Iran. He said the conflict stopped Iran from building a nuclear weapon.

He warned that he could take strong action against Iran if no peace deal is reached soon. Trump said he expects a deal to happen after the November elections.

On artificial intelligence, Trump pushed back against calls for global rules to control the technology. He called such rules an attempt by other countries to control something they did not build.

The president also said the US government will now use the term super intelligence instead of artificial intelligence. He said the new name sounds better and fits the technology.

Trump did not stop with Pakistan and Iran. He also spoke about Mexico and Cuba during his speech.

He described Mexico as the centre of cartel violence and urged its government to take back control of its own land. He also said his team wants a major change in the situation in Cuba.

Members of the Cuban delegation walked out of the hall while Trump spoke about their country. He called Cuba a failed state and said it will eventually fall.

Trump also touched on the United Nations itself. He said he has worked hard to cut down its bureaucracy and spending.

He criticised bodies like the International Criminal Court as well. Trump said US soldiers should never be investigated by courts that have no authority over America.

This year’s speech was calmer than his 2025 appearance. Last year, Trump gave a much sharper speech and dealt with a broken escalator and a teleprompter failure.

Out of everything he said, his comments about Pakistan drew the most attention. Many people are now asking why Trump called Shehbaz Sharif a terrific man.
