ZFA CEO Halil Demir Seeks Stronger Humanitarian Partnerships in Pakistan
Halil Demir meets UN agencies, diplomatic missions and government ministries to expand cooperation on education, water, food security and youth development
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Halil Demir, Chief Executive Officer of Zakat Foundation of America (ZFA), is visiting Pakistan to hold high-level talks with United Nations agencies, diplomatic missions, government departments and federal ministries. The visit aims to explore strategic collaboration, mobilize resources and advance sustainable humanitarian development across the country.
During the visit, Mr. Demir is meeting key stakeholders to discuss joint initiatives in education, access to clean water, orphan care, emergency relief, food security, youth empowerment and digital skills development. These sectors reflect some of the most pressing needs facing vulnerable communities in Pakistan, where recurring natural disasters, economic pressures and limited access to basic services continue to affect millions of people.
The engagements are intended to strengthen institutional partnerships and to draw greater local and international support for humanitarian and development programs. By working with government bodies, international organizations and diplomatic partners, ZFA seeks to expand the reach of its work, improve coordination and ensure that assistance is delivered effectively and transparently to those who need it most.
Officials familiar with the visit noted that collaboration among humanitarian organizations, public institutions and the international community is essential for building lasting solutions. Partnerships of this kind, they said, help avoid duplication of effort, make better use of limited resources and allow relief and development work to be sustained beyond the immediate emergency phase.
The discussions are expected to focus on both immediate relief needs and long-term development goals. Priority areas include improving access to quality education for children, providing safe drinking water to underserved communities, supporting orphans and their families, ensuring food security for at-risk households, and equipping young people with digital skills to improve their prospects in a changing job market.
Through these meetings, Zakat Foundation of America reaffirms its commitment to serving vulnerable communities with dignity, building strategic partnerships and promoting sustainable solutions to Pakistan’s humanitarian and social challenges. The organization has stated that it will continue to work alongside national and international partners to create meaningful, lasting impact for the people of Pakistan.
