PM Shehbaz Congratulates Saudi Leadership, Reiterates Strong Bilateral Ties With Riyadh

In a message shared on X, the prime minister conveyed his greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the people of Saudi Arabia. He said the Kingdom’s development and transformation were a source of pride and admiration for Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Saudi Arabia was advancing its economic development, modernisation and innovation under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Describing Pakistan-Saudi relations as a “historic and time-tested brotherhood”, the prime minister said the close relationship was built on shared faith, mutual trust and strong bonds between the two nations.

He added that bilateral ties were evolving into a broader strategic partnership, supported by a shared commitment to peace, security and unity among Muslim countries.

The prime minister also referred to the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the growing scope of cooperation between the two countries.

Shehbaz Sharif also reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, including what he described as an attempted drone attack targeting Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

He stressed that any threat to the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain causes deep concern among Muslims worldwide.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and security and pledged continued solidarity in protecting Islam’s holiest sites.

“Pakistan stands unwaveringly, shoulder to shoulder, with the Kingdom,” he said, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to its close ties with Riyadh.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would continue to expand, while reiterating the enduring bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.
