Young Pakistan Golfers Set to Compete at Bangladesh Junior Championship

An eight-member Pakistan contingent, competing under the banner of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF), has arrived in Bangladesh for the four-day championship. The team received a special invitation from the Bangladesh Golf Federation to participate in the regional event.

The squad brings together talented young golfers representing several leading clubs from across Pakistan. The contingent includes Jannat Aamer Jami of Indus Golf Club Attock, Muhammad Barik Ayub of PAF Islamabad Golf Club, Behzad Murtaza of Karachi Golf Club Karsaz and Nabeeha Nafees of Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club.

Completing the squad are Muhammad Musa Adil Waraich of Peshawar Golf Club, Mustafa Zubair of Margalla Greens Golf Club, Wareesha Shahid Malik of Islamabad Club Golf Course and Dua Farid Rao of PAF Risalpur Golf Club.

All eight players are understood to be registered junior golfers with the Ace Junior Golf League, adding to their experience in organised junior competition.

The Dhaka championship will provide Pakistan’s young golfers with valuable exposure to international competition. The players will look to build on their domestic experience and preparation while competing against junior golfers from across the region.

Kamran Malik has also played a role in the development of the PGF’s junior golf initiatives, particularly in strengthening development and high-performance pathways. He has completed the Game Development and High Performance Programme certification from the Professional Golfers Association of Australia.

Pakistan’s junior development efforts have also attracted international attention. The R&A invited the PGF to present its Junior Development Programme at its Global Alliance Best Practices Exchange conference, highlighting the federation’s efforts to establish a more structured pathway for young golfers.

The PGF has wished the national junior team success in Dhaka and expressed confidence that the players will represent Pakistan with discipline, confidence and sportsmanship.

With the opening round scheduled for September 23, Pakistan’s young golfers are ready to take on the regional challenge and gain valuable international experience.
