Security Forces Kill 19 Terrorists Across Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: (Staff Reporter) – Security forces have killed 19 terrorists in separate operations in Balochistan’s Shaban, Quetta West and Kech areas, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the military’s media wing, security forces have been conducting a clearance operation in Shaban, District Quetta, since September 21 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of multiple terrorist hideouts in the area.

During the operation, troops engaged and cleared several hideouts following intense exchanges of fire. The ISPR said 13 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the cleared locations. The operation is continuing until the security threat in the area is fully eliminated.

In separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Kech and Quetta West on September 22 and 23, security forces engaged terrorist elements and killed six more terrorists after heavy exchanges of fire.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operations. However, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, a resident of Taunsa Sharif, District Dera Ghazi Khan, embraced martyrdom while performing his duty during one of the engagements.

The ISPR said the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue with full momentum.

Security forces and law-enforcement agencies remain committed to countering what the ISPR described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for the successful operations, saying the killing of 19 terrorists demonstrated the effectiveness of their strategy. He reiterated that efforts against terrorism would continue until the threat is eliminated.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the security personnel involved in the operations, praising their courage and professional capabilities. He said operations against elements threatening peace in Balochistan would continue.
