Abrar Ahmed Claims Top Spot in T20I Rankings

ISLAMABAD: (Sports Reporter) – Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has reached the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings for the first time in his career.

Abrar becomes the fifth Pakistani bowler to occupy the top spot in the T20I rankings. He joins an elite group that includes Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has slipped to second place, just one rating point behind Abrar, after spending the previous six months at the top of the rankings.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz remains eighth among T20I bowlers, while Salman Mirza has dropped one place to 19th.

England’s Jamie Overton made one of the biggest gains in the latest rankings, climbing 47 places to a career-best sixth position. His compatriot Liam Dawson also moved up 12 spots to 11th.

India’s Axar Patel improved by 12 places to reach 15th in the bowling rankings.

In the T20I all-rounder rankings, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza continues to hold the No. 1 position, while Pakistan’s Saim Ayub remains second.

England’s Will Jacks moved up three places to claim third position in the all-rounder rankings.
