Pakistani Wrestlers Shine at Asian Beach Games, Claim Two Silver Medals
Pakistani Wrestlers Reach Finals, Secure Two Medals at Asian Beach Games — Kabaddi Team Adds Bronze
Pakistani Wrestlers – (Web Desk) – Pakistani wrestlers made the whole nation proud at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, reaching the finals in beach wrestling and securing two hard-earned silver medals. Muhammad Inam Butt and Asadullah both fought their way to the gold medal bouts but faced tough resistance from Iranian opponents who edged them out in the deciding rounds.
Though the final results brought silver instead of gold, the journey to those finals was nothing short of brilliant. Both athletes won multiple competitive bouts against strong opponents from across Asia, proving Pakistan’s growing strength in beach wrestling on the continental stage.
Pakistan Wrestling Federation President Arshad Sattar warmly congratulated the wrestlers, their coaches, and all officials involved. He said the athletes carried the national flag with great dignity and delivered a performance the entire country could be proud of. He also acknowledged that despite falling short in the final, both fighters showed extraordinary determination, discipline, and a never-give-up spirit throughout the tournament.
The federation’s secretary general extended heartfelt thanks to key institutions that made this campaign possible — the Pakistan Olympic Association, the Pakistan Sports Board, Pakistan WAPDA, and the Pakistan Army. Their combined backing provided the athletes with the resources and support needed to compete at this high level.
Muhammad Inam Butt personally acknowledged that without the full support of these organizations, reaching the finals at such a prestigious event would not have been possible.
Adding to the celebrations, Pakistan’s kabaddi team also claimed a bronze medal at the Games, bringing the country’s total medal haul to three — two silver and one bronze — a strong and encouraging return to the Asian Beach Games stage.
