Government Approves Long-Pending Increase in Fuel Dealers’ Margins

ISLAMABAD: (Finance Reporter) – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a Rs1.34 per liter increase in the dealers’ margin on petrol and diesel, addressing a long-standing demand from petrol pump owners.

The decision was taken during an ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. Following the approval, the dealers’ margin on both petrol and diesel will rise from Rs8.64 to Rs9.98 per liter.

Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association, Noman Butt, welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the petroleum minister.

Butt said the increase would provide relief to petrol pump dealers, adding that the government had finally accepted their long-standing demand for a higher margin on petrol and diesel sales.
