HONG KONG: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan’s women’s netball team has clinched the Plate Division title at the 2026 Asian Netball Championship, defeating Thailand 55-50 in a closely contested final.
The victory capped an impressive campaign for Pakistan and also secured the team a place in the Cup Division of the 2028 Asian Netball Championship, scheduled to be held in Singapore.
Pakistan produced a disciplined and determined performance throughout the final, maintaining composure against Thailand and finishing strongly to secure the championship.
Saba Noor Anwar, Maya, Lia Raza Shah, Hina Chaudhry, Serena Naseem, Jasmin, Farah, Noorul Ain and Samaya Safdar were among the players who made important contributions to Pakistan’s successful campaign.
The triumph represents a significant achievement for Pakistan women’s netball, with the team’s strong performance earning promotion to the higher-tier Cup Division for the next Asian Championship.
Pakistan’s success in Hong Kong also adds to the team’s recent progress on the continental stage, with the players’ teamwork, discipline and determination proving decisive in the final.
