Former Pakistan Olympians Unable to Score Against Netherlands in Masters Opener
ISLAMABAD: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan’s veterans team suffered a heavy defeat in its opening match of the Masters Hockey World Cup, losing 10-0 to the Netherlands in the over-60 category.
The Netherlands dominated the contest, while Pakistan’s former Olympians struggled to find the net and ended the match without scoring.
The Pakistan squad features several former hockey Olympians, including Shahbaz Senior, Tariq Sheikh and Khalid Hameed, along with other experienced players.
Pakistan has been placed in Group D alongside the Netherlands, Wales and Ireland.
The veterans team will look to bounce back when it faces Ireland on August 9, before taking on Wales on August 11.
