OpenAI Launches GPT-5.6 With More Powerful Reasoning and Coding
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – OpenAI has introduced its new GPT-5.6 model family, bringing enhanced reasoning and performance to several of its AI products. The new lineup includes GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna, with availability depending on the product and subscription plan.
The company says GPT-5.6 Sol is designed for demanding tasks that require deeper reasoning, including research, coding, science and other complex workloads. Meanwhile, different versions of the model are being offered across OpenAI’s products to balance performance, speed and efficiency.
In standard ChatGPT, GPT-5.5 Instant remains the default model, while GPT-5.6 Sol is available to eligible paid subscribers. Free and Go users can access GPT-5.6 Terra through Codex, rather than receiving GPT-5.6 Sol as the standard ChatGPT model.
OpenAI continues to provide Free users with several ChatGPT features, including web search, file and image uploads, data analysis and image generation, although usage limits apply.
The latest model rollout reflects OpenAI’s broader effort to improve AI performance while making advanced tools available across different products and subscription levels.
