Election Commission Recognises Internal Polls of Four Political Parties
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has formally recognised the intra-party elections of four political parties and issued official notifications confirming their approval.
According to reports, the parties whose internal elections have been accepted are Aam Aadmi Tehreek Pakistan, Pakistani Awami Inqalabi League, Allah-o-Akbar Tehreek, and Kisan Ittehad Awami Party.
The ECP issued separate notifications after the parties completed the required legal and procedural formalities, acknowledging their intra-party elections in line with the country’s electoral laws.
Following the latest approvals, the total number of political parties registered with the Election Commission has increased to 167, reflecting the continued growth of Pakistan’s political landscape.

Despite these developments, ECP records show that three political parties are still listed without a recognised organisational structure or officially acknowledged party head.
These include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and the Pakistan Reform Party.
According to the Election Commission, the status of these parties is linked to the completion and recognition of intra-party elections, along with the submission of leadership and organisational details as required under electoral regulations.
The ECP has not announced any further action regarding the parties that are currently without recognised leadership structures.
