Fuel Supply Restored in Gilgit-Baltistan After Successful Tankers Association Talks

Gilgit-Baltistan – (Staff Reporter/News Desk) – Gilgit-Baltistan fuel supply is set to resume immediately after the district administration held detailed talks with a delegation from the Tankers Association today. The meeting, called on the special directions of the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, focused on restoring petroleum supply and addressing the association’s long-standing demands.

During the session, officials briefed the tankers’ representatives on the progress made so far. They promised full cooperation to resolve the group’s genuine concerns. The administration also urged the association to restart fuel deliveries right away, warning that any delay could lead to shortages across the region.

This isn’t the first round of talks. On September 9, the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary met the same delegation, and that meeting went well too. The association had agreed to pause its protest then. But slow progress on issues involving the National Highway Authority and federal departments pushed tensions back up, nearly triggering another shutdown.

Now, the association has agreed to hold off again, this time for ten more days, and fuel will start moving right away.

The Chief Minister welcomed the news, calling steady access to basic supplies one of his government’s top goals. He has asked all departments to stay in close contact with federal authorities so the matter gets a permanent fix, not just another short-term pause.

He also thanked the tankers for putting public interest first and promised the government won’t let up until a lasting solution is in place. Finally, he asked residents to stay calm, skip the panic buying, and use fuel normally while things get sorted out.
