Authorities Warn Public About Passport Office Location Scam
Islamabad Passport Office Google Maps Scam Triggers Public Warning
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Authorities have cautioned citizens against a fraudulent scheme involving the Google Maps location of the Regional Passport Office in Islamabad’s G-10 sector.
According to officials, an unidentified individual has allegedly added personal contact information, including a phone number and email address, to the passport office’s online listing and is misleading people into making payments through JazzCash and various bank accounts.
The public has been strongly advised not to share personal details, documents, or financial information with any unauthorized person claiming to offer passport-related services. Citizens have also been urged to avoid making payments through unofficial channels.
Officials emphasized that all passport-related queries, guidance, and support should be obtained exclusively through authorized government platforms to prevent fraud and financial losses.
For verified information regarding passport services, citizens can contact the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) helpline at 051-111-344-777.
Meanwhile, Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently announced a major public facilitation initiative under which passports will be delivered directly to citizens’ homes from July 1.
The move is aimed at reducing overcrowding at passport offices and eliminating the need for repeated visits. During a recent inspection of passport facilities, the DG met applicants, reviewed operational procedures, and directed officials to address public complaints promptly while improving service delivery standards across the country.
