US-Pakistan Trade Exceeds $8 Billion as Technology Cooperation Expands Further
ISLAMABAD: (Special Reporter) – US Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker has said bilateral trade between the United States and Pakistan exceeded $8 billion in 2025, highlighting opportunities to further strengthen economic cooperation.
Baker visited Lahore on August 11 and 12, where she held meetings with business leaders and technology experts, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Adviser Ali Dar.
According to the US Embassy, discussions focused on artificial intelligence, higher education, innovation, trade and investment. Baker said Washington was committed to working with Pakistan’s private sector, universities, innovators and government institutions.
She noted that Pakistan’s technology sector is expanding rapidly, creating opportunities for greater cooperation in trade, investment, AI and other emerging technologies. She also identified software and digital services as areas with significant potential for collaboration.
Baker stressed the importance of expanding commercial ties between the two countries, saying stronger economic cooperation could create new opportunities for businesses and students in both countries.
She added that American expertise in higher education could help expand opportunities for Pakistani students while contributing to stronger economic links between Pakistan and the United States.
