US illuminates iconic Pakistan landmarks to mark 250th Independence Day
Islamabad: (Special Reporter) – The United States Embassy in Islamabad and the US Consulate General in Lahore marked the 250th anniversary of American independence by illuminating prominent landmarks in Islamabad and Lahore in the colours of the American flag.
The Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad was lit in red, white and blue from July 1 to July 5 under the Freedom 250 campaign. Globe Chowk on Constitution Avenue was also illuminated during the five-day celebrations, carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Capital Development Authority.
In Lahore, the US Mission coordinated the illumination of the Alamgiri Gate and Picture Wall at Lahore Fort, along with Quaid-e-Azam Library and the National Institute of Technology.

Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker said America’s 250th anniversary was a moment to renew institutions, strengthen partnerships and promote cooperation based on mutual respect. She said the United States and Pakistan were working to expand engagement in trade, investment, critical minerals, economic development and regional peace.
The Freedom 250 campaign is a year-long global initiative marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776. The US Mission said the celebrations reflected the values of freedom, democracy and opportunity, while also highlighting the evolving partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
