PCB Fines Naseem Shah Over Social Media Controversy
The Pakistan Cricket Board has imposed a fine of Rs 20 million on fast bowler Naseem Shah for violating his central contract.
According to a private news channel, Naseem Shah received a show-cause notice on March 27, and the PCB’s disciplinary committee conducted a hearing after reviewing his response. The three-member panel has decided to impose the fine, noting the cricketer’s unconditional apology.
In addition to the fine, Naseem Shah’s social media advisor has been dismissed and blacklisted by the PCB.
The disciplinary action follows a controversial comment made by Naseem Shah on X regarding the arrival of Maryam Nawaz at the stadium.
Naseem Shah currently plays for the Rawalpindi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which acquired him for Rs 86.5 million.
