Bangladesh had earlier posted 102 runs in 14.2 overs after a collapse triggered by a strong New Zealand bowling attack. The hosts lost early wickets in the powerplay and never fully recovered despite brief resistance from their middle order.
Shoriful Islam was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, taking 3-19 and striking early to dismiss key top-order batters. However, New Zealand bowlers dominated overall, with Josh Clarkson claiming 3-9 and Nathan Smith and Jayden Lennox taking two wickets each.
For Bangladesh, captain Litton Das top-scored with a quick 26 and also set a new national record for most wicketkeeping dismissals in T20 internationals, surpassing Mushfiqur Rahim.
In a separate milestone, New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi became the country’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20 internationals, moving past Tim Southee’s record to reach 165 wickets.
Earlier in the series, Bangladesh had won the opening match, while the second game was washed out due to rain, resulting in a drawn series.
