Babar Azam gets first PSL captaincy final chance

Star Babar Azam eyes first PSL trophy as captain with Zalmi

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam is set for a landmark moment in his career as he gets his first major opportunity to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) title as a captain.

Leading Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam has guided the team to the PSL final for the first time under his leadership, marking a significant achievement in the franchise’s history.

Babar initially featured in the inaugural PSL season in 2016 with Islamabad United under Misbah-ul-Haq, but played only two matches and was not part of the squad that won the title that year. He later represented Karachi Kings from 2017 to 2021, where he eventually lifted the PSL trophy in 2020 under Imad Wasim’s captaincy.
