PCB Planning New Cricket Stadium in Saudi Arabia for PSL Matches
The matter was reportedly discussed during a recent board meeting in Lahore.
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly planning to build a cricket stadium in Saudi Arabia that could host Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Jeddah in the future.
According to reports, the PCB has secured initial approval from its governing board for the project, although further discussions and a final agreement are still pending.
The move is said to be part of the board’s wider plan to expand the game beyond Pakistan, especially in Saudi Arabia, where interest in cricket has grown in recent years.

Reports claim the board has approved an expression of interest to work with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation (SACF) for the development of a new stadium in Jeddah. The matter was reportedly discussed during a recent board meeting in Lahore.
If the plan moves forward, the venue could eventually be used for PSL matches, giving the tournament a new base in the Middle East beyond the UAE, which has previously hosted games successfully.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had visited Saudi Arabia in December 2024, where he met Prince Saud bin Mishal Al-Saud. During that visit, both sides reportedly discussed the construction of a new cricket venue and ways to promote the sport in the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia’s cricket setup has become more structured in recent years, particularly after the establishment of the SACF in 2020.
For now, the proposal appears to be at an early stage, with formal approvals and additional details still to be finalized.
