Islamabad to Get a Grand 1,000-Acre Park at Margalla Foothills

Mohsin Naqvi Unveils Major Green Space and Development Plan for the Federal Capital

Islamabad – (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has unveiled an exciting and long-awaited development for the residents of the federal capital. On Tuesday, he announced that a grand 1000 acre park Islamabad project would be developed at the scenic foothills of Margalla Hills, marking a significant step toward transforming Islamabad into a truly world-class city.

The announcement was made during a high-level meeting chaired by the minister at the Capital Development Authority headquarters, where key decisions regarding the city’s future were taken.

Speaking at the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi Islamabad park initiative reflects his broader vision of turning the capital into a modern metropolis. He emphasized that the primary goal is to provide Islamabad’s residents with top-tier recreational spaces and lifestyle facilities that match international standards.

“Five-star hotels will be built in the city in collaboration with firms of international repute,” the minister stated, signaling that private sector giants from across the globe would be invited to invest in Islamabad’s growing hospitality sector.

The meeting also took stock of the ongoing progress on a luxury five-star hotel being developed jointly with the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), which is expected to add significant value to the capital’s skyline.

In a major administrative move, it was decided that the Survey of Pakistan would carry out a thorough and complete survey of all territories and properties falling within the federal capital. This step is seen as crucial for better urban planning and transparent land management going forward.

CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, briefed the meeting in detail on the development projects currently underway across the city. He confirmed that the entire record of the Capital Development Authority is being digitalized, a reform that will bring greater transparency and efficiency to the authority’s operations.

Furthermore, Ashraf announced that all redundant and unnecessary posts within the CDA would be abolished as part of a wider effort to streamline the organization and cut unnecessary expenditure.

Minister Naqvi also directed the formation of a dedicated marketing team that will oversee all future auctions conducted by the CDA. The objective is to attract a wider pool of both local and international investors, ensuring maximum participation and competitive bidding in every auction process.

On the public safety front, it was decided that the control room of the Capital Emergency Services would be relocated and integrated within the Safe City facility, further strengthening Islamabad’s emergency response infrastructure.

Senior officials including Members of CDA, Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and other key officers attended the meeting.

With the 1000 acre park Islamabad project at Margalla foothills, five-star hotel developments, and sweeping administrative reforms, it is clear that the government under Mohsin Naqvi Islamabad park vision is determined to reshape the capital for generations to come. For Islamabad’s residents, these are promising signs of a greener, smarter, and more vibrant city on the horizon.
