South Asian Games to Be Held in Pakistan from April 3 to 11, 2027
President of the Pakistan Olympic Association Arif Saeed said Pakistan was fully prepared to host the Games.
ISLAMABAD: (Sports Reporter) – The Executive Committee of the South Asia Olympic Council has approved the schedule for the South Asian Games, which will be held in Pakistan from April 3 to 11 next year.
The Games will feature competitions in 28 men’s and 25 women’s sports, with more than 4,200 athletes and officials from member countries expected to participate.
A total of 346 gold medals will be contested, with events scheduled to take place in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar.
President of the Pakistan Olympic Association Arif Saeed said Pakistan was fully prepared to host the Games. He said the government was providing full support for the successful of the event and expressed confidence that the South Asian Games would be organised on a grand scale.
The schedule was approved during a meeting of the South Asia Olympic Council’s Executive Committee held in Islamabad.
Delegations from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives attended the meeting, along with POA Secretary Khalid Mahmood and officials from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. The Indian delegation participated in the meeting via video link.
