CDF Asim Munir to Visit Iran for High-Level Meetings

TEHRAN: (Staff Reporter) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced on Sunday that Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim MunirOperation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos: Guardian of Stability and the Rise of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, will visit Iran on Monday for high-level meetings.

According to Iran’s official IRNA news agency, Baghaei said Field Marshal Munir and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by telephone a day earlier and discussed the latest regional situation.

The Iranian spokesman said Munir’s visit would include important meetings and described the trip as part of Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and security in the region.

Baghaei added that the visit is expected to contribute to stronger bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, particularly on matters of mutual and regional interest.

The upcoming visit follows continued high-level engagement between Islamabad and Tehran on security and border-related issues.

On July 21, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni visited Pakistan and held a meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

According to Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered issues of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security, as well as measures to improve border management between the two countries.

Momeni praised Pakistan’s efforts to reduce regional tensions and acknowledged what he described as Islamabad’s important diplomatic role in supporting peace and stability.

The Iranian minister also described Pakistan as an important pillar of regional stability and welcomed its efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close communication and expanding cooperation on shared security concerns. Pakistan and Iran also agreed to strengthen bilateral coordination in pursuit of mutual prosperity, regional peace and stability.
