MQM London Dummy Newspaper Raid Karachi Uncovers Hidden Network
MQM London Dummy Newspaper Raid Karachi Exposes Banned Faction's Secret Operation
MQM London – (Web Desk) – Police and intelligence agencies carried out a joint raid on an MQM London dummy newspaper office in Karachi, detaining more than 20 people linked to the banned political faction.
The office was located on the famous I.I. Chundrigar Road. Security forces recovered banners and flags connected to MQM-London during the operation. An assistant commissioner and administrative officials were also present at the scene.
Authorities found that the newspaper was not a real publication. It was being used as a cover to run a network on behalf of the London-based faction. After recovering the material, officials sealed the premises and began a full investigation.
All detained individuals were transferred to an undisclosed location for further questioning. Police have not yet revealed their identities or confirmed any formal charges.
MQM-London traces its roots to the political movement founded by Altaf Hussain in 1984. Over the years, the party split into separate factions operating in Pakistan and abroad.
This latest crackdown comes nearly ten years after the major 2016 raid on MQM’s Karachi headquarters. That operation followed a controversial speech delivered by Altaf Hussain from London.
Investigations are still ongoing, and further details are expected to be released soon.
