Peshawar Zalmi outclass Quetta Gladiators, extend unbeaten PSL run

Zalmi chase with ease as Babar Azam leads from the front

Peshawar Zalm – (Web Desk) – Peshawar Zalmi continued their strong form with another impressive win, making it six victories in seven matches and extending their winning streak to five games after a previous washout against Islamabad United in Lahore.

Chasing a target of 155 runs, Zalmi made it look easy. They reached the total with just two wickets down and still had nine balls remaining. The opening pair of Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam gave their team a flying start, adding 75 runs in the first nine overs. Haris played a quick knock of 35 runs, hitting boundaries with confidence before getting out.

After his dismissal, Babar kept the momentum going with support from Kusal Mendis. The pair built a steady partnership, ensuring there was no pressure on the batting side. Even after Mendis got out, Babar stayed calm and guided the team towards victory, finishing unbeaten with a brilliant 71 runs. Aaron Hardie also contributed with a useful cameo to seal the win.

Earlier, Zalmi’s bowlers did a solid job by restricting Quetta Gladiators to 154 runs. Sufiyan Muqeem was the standout performer, taking three important wickets and keeping the run rate under control. Abdul Basit also supported well with three wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed chipped in with one.

Quetta struggled to build strong partnerships throughout their innings. Hassan Nawaz was their top scorer with 37 runs, while a few other batters made small contributions. However, regular wickets and tight bowling from Zalmi kept them from reaching a bigger total.

Overall, it was a complete team performance by Zalmi, showing strong batting, disciplined bowling, and excellent control throughout the match.
