Pakistan U18 Outclass Kyrgyzstan in AVC U18 Volleyball Championship Opener

Pakistan will now look to build on their winning start in their remaining Pool C fixtures.

HAIKOU, China: (Sports Reporter) – Pakistan made an impressive start to their campaign in the 2026 AVC Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship by defeating Kyrgyzstan in straight sets in their opening Pool C match on Saturday.

The young Pakistani side displayed excellent coordination and dominance throughout the contest, registering a comfortable 3-0 victory with scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-17 at the Haikou Wuyuanhe Gymnasium.

The convincing win gives Pakistan an ideal start in the group stage and boosts their chances of progressing further in the continental championship.

Following the victory, Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) officials congratulated the team on their outstanding performance.

PVF Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob lauded the players for their impressive display and expressed confidence in their ability to maintain the momentum throughout the tournament.

“This is a fantastic start for our young athletes. I congratulate the entire team and hope they continue to perform with the same determination and excellence in the upcoming matches,” he said.

PVF President Sohail Khawar Mir described the victory as a proud moment for Pakistan, praising both the players and coaching staff for their hard work.

Director Technical Naseer Ahmed credited the team’s success to its intensive training camp, saying the players’ dedication and disciplined preparation were reflected in their commanding performance against Kyrgyzstan.

The AVC Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship is being held in Haikou, China, from July 12 to 18, with the tournament also serving as a qualifier for the 2027 FIVB Boys’ U19 Volleyball World Championship. The top four teams will secure qualification for the global event.
