Founders Panel Sweeps COMSATS University Statutory Bodies Elections 2026
The panel also secured all elected seats in the Syndicate
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – The Founders Panel secured a landslide victory in the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Statutory Bodies Elections 2026, winning all 19 elected seats across the university’s key governing forums.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, the clean sweep marks the third consecutive term in which the Founders Panel has captured every elected seat since COMSATS attained university status under the CUI Act, 2018.
COMSATS University is governed by its Senate, chaired by the President of Pakistan in the capacity of Chancellor, while the Federal Minister for Science and Technology serves as the Pro-Chancellor.
In the Senate elections, the Founders Panel won all four faculty representation seats. The successful candidates included Prof. Dr. Rab Nawaz, Dr. Muhammad Shakeel Aslam, Engr. Nauman Khan Tareen, and Mr. Taimur Sajjad.
The panel also secured all elected seats in the Syndicate, with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yasin, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali, and Prof. Dr. Mudassar Rashid Khawaja emerging victorious. It also claimed every elected position in the Academic Council and the Representation Committee of the Senate.
Following the announcement of the results, the Founders Panel thanked faculty members from all COMSATS campuses for their overwhelming support and confidence. It also appreciated the university administration, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, for ensuring a transparent, smooth, and orderly electoral process.
The panel described the victory as both an honour and a responsibility, reaffirming its commitment to serving the faculty with integrity, transparency, inclusiveness, and dedication.
It also expressed confidence in continued collaboration with the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Rector, and other university stakeholders to promote faculty-friendly policies, strengthen institutional governance, and implement progressive reforms aimed at advancing academic excellence and the university’s long-term development.
