ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – An IndiGo passenger aircraft operating from Mumbai to Srinagar was damaged after colliding with a pole belonging to the airport’s Visual Docking Guidance System while taxiing toward its designated parking stand.
IndiGo flight 6E-225 was involved in the incident at around 9:02 am. The aircraft, an Airbus A321 that had reportedly entered service only about four months earlier, sustained damage to its nose section.
The Visual Docking Guidance System is designed to assist pilots in accurately positioning aircraft at parking stands through laser sensors and display units.
All passengers and crew members were reported safe, with no injuries. They were subsequently evacuated from the aircraft using the airport’s regular passenger stairs.
Airport authorities have initiated an investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the collision and determine the cause of the incident.
