India’s Actions in Kashmir are a Challenge to the World Community,Nazir Qurashi

London-based Kashmiri leader Nazir Ahmad Qurashi has strongly condemned India’s repeal of Article 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019, calling it a blatant violation of international principles and the United Nations Charter. Qurashi, who is the Chairman of the Global Kashmir Campaign and ambassador of the Kashmir freedom struggle in Great Britain, said that India’s actions are an open challenge to the world community.
Qurashi stated that the Kashmir issue is a recognized disputed international issue, and India cannot unilaterally change its status. He alleged that after the abrogation of Article 370, the Modi government has terrorized the Kashmiri people, but the freedom movement continues unabated, embarrassing India.
He highlighted the massive human rights violations in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) over the past five years, including the detention of thousands of Kashmiri youth and hurriyat leaders, Indian terrorism, and the seizure of property and homes of Kashmiri Muslims.
Qurashi emphasized that it is the responsibility of the international community to rein in India’s aggressive actions in IIOJK and push for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir conflict, which poses a serious threat to global peace.”
