KARACHI: (Web Desk) – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has directed commercial banks to keep selected branches open and extend banking hours from June 27 to June 30 to facilitate the collection of government taxes and duties.

The move comes following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to ensure taxpayers can conveniently make payments through Over-the-Counter (OTC) services and Alternate Delivery Channels before the close of the fiscal period.

According to an SBP circular issued on June 24, all designated Saturday-opening branches of commercial banks, along with National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branches handling customs collections, will remain open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 27.

On Monday, June 29, all commercial bank branches and NBP branches responsible for customs collections will operate with extended hours until 8:00 pm.
