Babar Azam Drops Five Places in Latest Test Rankings

DUBAI: (Sports Desk) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test player rankings, with Pakistan captain Babar Azam dropping five places to 15th among Test batters.

England’s Harry Brook retained the top position in the batting rankings, while Australia’s Steve Smith climbed one place to second. England’s experienced batter Joe Root slipped to third.

Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis moved up two places to reach 10th, while Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel made one of the biggest gains, jumping 15 places to 18th.

Sri Lanka’s Sonal Dinusha occupies 25th position in the latest rankings.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan fell seven places to 33rd. Meanwhile, Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha each dropped three positions, moving to 41st and 43rd respectively.

Starc Retains Top Bowling Position

In the Test bowling rankings, Australia’s Mitchell Starc maintained his position at the top.

New Zealand’s Matt Henry climbed one place to second, while England’s Ollie Robinson made a notable six-place jump to fifth.

Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando also improved his ranking, rising four spots to 11th.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas is currently ranked 15th among Test bowlers, while England’s Josh Tongue moved four places up to 13th.

England’s Gus Atkinson, meanwhile, suffered a significant decline, dropping 10 places to 24th in the latest ICC rankings.
