Mitchell Starc Claims Top Spot in Latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings

ISLAMABAD: (Sports Desk) – Australia’s Mitchell Starc has reached the top of the latest ICC Test bowling rankings for the first time in his career, displacing India’s Jasprit Bumrah from the No.1 position. Starc’s rise follows his outstanding performance against Bangladesh, including a 10-wicket match haul.

Bumrah has slipped to second place, while New Zealand’s Matt Henry occupies third. Starc’s latest achievement marks a major milestone in his Test career and reflects his strong recent form.

For Pakistan, Noman Ali remains among the leading Test bowlers, while England’s Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue have made notable gains following their impressive performances against Pakistan. Robinson has climbed 15 places to 11th, while Tongue has jumped 16 spots to 17th.

In the Test batting rankings, England’s Harry Brook continues to occupy the top position, followed by teammate Joe Root. Australia’s Steve Smith is third and Travis Head fourth.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains inside the top 10, while Abdullah Shafique has made significant progress, moving up seven places to 28th. The latest rankings come after Pakistan’s recent Test series and ahead of the second Test against England at Lord’s.
