Pakistan Gear Up for Their AFC Under-17 Asian Cup Qualifying Campaign
Mohammad Habib says his young squad is ready to face Sri Lanka, Iran, Jordan and hosts Laos in Vientiane
Pakistan – (Mudassir Iqbal/News Agency) – Pakistan head coach Mohammad Habib says he is happy with his team’s training before the Asian Cup qualifying campaign in Vientiane, Laos.
The young side will start its Group D journey against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Habib spoke at the pre-tournament press conference. He said the squad has completed many hard training sessions and is ready to give its best.
All the players were picked from the recent National Under-17 Championship. The coach believes they are keen to do well on a big stage.

“We have a promising group of players who want to shine at this level,” Habib said.
The task will not be easy. Pakistan are in the same group as strong Asian teams like Iran and Jordan. Even so, the coach says his players are confident.
After Sri Lanka, Pakistan will meet Iran on Nov 11. They will then play hosts Laos in the last group match on Nov 20.
Only the team that finishes top of the group will move on to next year’s finals in Uzbekistan.
