Four India-Backed Terrorists Killed in Bannu Intelligence-Based Operation
Security forces say a large cache of weapons was recovered as clearance operations continue in the area
KP Bannu – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Four India-backed terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said on Saturday.
Officials say the group belonged to Fitna al-Khawarij, a name Pakistan uses for militants linked to banned groups.
The operation was part of the Azm-e-Istehkam vision. The plan aims to end militant networks and bring lasting peace to the province.
Security forces also found a large stock of weapons and ammunition on the militants. Sources did not share further details about the items.
Clearance operations are still going on in the area. Troops are searching for any other militants who may be hiding nearby.
Attacks have risen sharply in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. Pakistan recorded its highest monthly number of militant attacks in 12 years in September 2026.
Islamabad has often asked Kabul to stop militants from using Afghan soil for attacks inside Pakistan. Pakistan says the Afghan Taliban government has not taken strong action against these groups.
Both sides have held several rounds of talks, but the matter is still unsolved. Militant groups operating from Afghanistan remain the biggest point of disagreement between the two countries.
