Field Marshal Munir Promises Strong Action Against India-Backed Terrorists

The army chief visited Corps Headquarters in Peshawar and told troops to stay ready as the fight against terror groups continues.

CDF – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Field Marshal Asim Munir has said the army will hit India-backed terrorists hard. He made this clear on Friday during a visit to Corps Headquarters in Peshawar. He is the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff.

The military’s media wing, ISPR, shared the details. It said the army chief received a briefing on the security situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The briefing also covered ongoing counter-terrorism operations. Officers explained border management steps and how ready the troops are on the ground.

Field Marshal Munir praised the high morale of the officers and soldiers. He also praised their professional work. He asked them to stay alert and keep their readiness at the highest level.

He said the campaign against India-sponsored terror groups will go on fully. In his words, the army will hit them hard wherever they are.

He also paid tribute to the people of Pakistan. He remembered the martyrs and the wounded soldiers of the security forces. He said that with the people’s support, Pakistan will defeat the terrorists and their twisted ideology.

This visit came a day after a major meeting in the same city. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the Federal Apex Committee meeting at Governor’s House in Peshawar. Top civil and military leaders attended, including Field Marshal Munir.

The prime minister said the government and the army are working together at a fast pace. Their aim is to bring lasting peace and development to the province. He also announced a Rs160 billion development package for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

He spoke about governor’s rule and the emergency in the province. He said tough decisions were needed because law and order had grown worse.

Pakistan has seen more cross-border attacks since the Afghan Taliban took power in 2021. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have been hit the most. In September 2026, the country saw its highest number of militant attacks in a single month in 12 years.

Islamabad has often asked Kabul to stop militants from using Afghan soil. Pakistan says the Taliban government has not acted well against these groups. Despite many rounds of talks, both sides still disagree on this issue.
