DHAKA: (Sports Desk) – Bangladesh have made significant progress in the latest ICC Test team rankings after securing a 1-1 draw in their two-match series against Australia.
The result saw Bangladesh climb three places to a career-best sixth position, moving ahead of both Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sri Lanka are now seventh, while Pakistan have slipped to eighth.
Australia remain at the top of the Test rankings, followed by South Africa and New Zealand. India occupy fourth place, with England completing the top five.
Bangladesh began their Australian campaign with a historic nine-wicket victory in the opening Test, recording their first-ever Test win on Australian soil.
Australia, however, responded strongly in the second match, beating Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs to level the series.
Pakistan, meanwhile, have endured a difficult start to their three-Test series in England after suffering a heavy defeat in the opening match.
