Jeddah Cricket Stadium: PCB, Saudi Arabia Sign Deal

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia team up to build new Jeddah cricket stadium

Pakistan & Saudi Arabia – (Web Desk) – Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to build a new Jeddah cricket stadium. The two cricket boards signed the deal on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Mohammad Al Saud, head of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi signed on behalf of Pakistan.

Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s interior minister, arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday. He held talks with Saudi leaders on security and other matters during his visit.

Under the deal, both sides will work closely together. They plan to focus on building strong infrastructure, sharing technical know-how, and planning the venue properly.

The goal is to create a modern stadium that meets world-class cricket standards. This includes better playing surfaces, media facilities, and areas for fans and players alike.

Prince Saud said the partnership goes beyond just building a stadium. He called it a step toward a long-term future for cricket in Saudi Arabia.

The new venue will help Saudi Arabia host big international cricket matches. It also supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals for sports and tourism.

Naqvi said PCB feels proud to be part of Saudi Arabia’s cricket growth. He added that this partnership will connect fans and players from both nations.

Cricket first came to Saudi Arabia in the 1960s. It was brought by workers from Pakistan and India who loved the game.

The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation was formed in 2020. Since then, the sport has grown quickly across the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia became a full member of the International Cricket Council in stages. It joined as an affiliate in 2003 and moved up to associate status in 2016.
