Trump Urges Patience During Critical Iran Peace Negotiations

US Maintains Iran Blockade Amid Ongoing Nuclear Discussions

Islamabad: (Web Desk) President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he has instructed American negotiators to avoid rushing into a final agreement with Iran, despite growing expectations that a deal to ease tensions in the Middle East could be close. In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated that negotiations were moving “constructively and in an orderly manner,” adding that Washington believes time currently favors the United States.

Trump also confirmed that the U.S. blockade targeting Iranian ports will stay in place until a formal agreement is fully approved and signed. The blockade was introduced on April 13 after Iran significantly disrupted movement through the Strait of Hormuz following the February 28 US-Israeli military strikes on Iranian targets.

The latest remarks came as criticism of the proposed deal intensified in Washington, with both Republican and Democratic figures reportedly expressing concerns over details that have surfaced in recent days. Trump emphasized that negotiators should proceed carefully to avoid repeating what he described as the mistakes of the 2015 nuclear agreement reached under former President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei revealed that Tehran and Washington are close to finalizing a 14-point framework agreement aimed at improving relations and reducing regional tensions. Trump later stated that the deal was “largely negotiated” but still required final adjustments before completion.
