Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal/News Desk) Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has departed for Iran on an official visit, security sources said. During the trip, he is expected to hold key meetings with senior Iranian officials to discuss regional and bilateral matters.
According to sources, the talks are likely to focus on ongoing US-Iran negotiations, the broader regional security situation, and avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. More details regarding the visit and meetings are expected to emerge in the coming days.
The visit is being viewed as a significant development in the evolving diplomatic and security relationship between Islamabad and Tehran, particularly amid heightened regional tensions and renewed diplomatic activity involving Iran.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday reiterated that Pakistan remained the “primary” negotiator in Washington’s negotiations with Iran to end the war.
