Dar, Fidan Review Bilateral Ties, Regional Developments

ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Thursday reviewed bilateral relations and regional developments of mutual interest.

The two foreign ministers held a telephone conversation late Wednesday night, during which they reaffirmed their shared position on the situation in Palestine.

They also expressed support for a joint statement issued by eight Arab and Islamic countries regarding the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and restrict services associated with those settlements.

Dar and Fidan further welcomed the joint statement issued by the UK and other European countries in support of a two-state solution to the Palestine issue.

The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining close consultations on regional developments, including through the Regional Four (R4) framework involving Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The two foreign ministers agreed to meet on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
