Afridi Achieves Milestone During Bangladesh First Innings In Dhaka Test

DHAKA: (Web Desk) – Shaheen Shah Afridi achieved a major milestone in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh national cricket team in Dhaka, as he became the first Pakistani bowler to reach 100 wickets in the ICC World Test Championship.

The milestone came during Bangladesh’s first innings when the left-arm fast bowler dismissed opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy, marking his third wicket in the innings and bringing up the landmark in just 28 WTC matches.

Afridi’s achievement places him at the top among Pakistani bowlers in the competition, with Noman Ali trailing behind with 89 wickets in 20 matches so far.

In the same competition’s overall records, Australia’s Nathan Lyon leads the wicket-taking chart with 224 wickets in 55 matches. He is followed closely by captain Pat Cummins with 222 wickets and Mitchell Starc with 221 wickets.

Afridi’s milestone further strengthens his reputation as one of Pakistan’s leading fast bowlers in modern Test cricket.
