Pakistan calls for ceasefire, backs US-Iran diplomacy
PM Shehbaz, CDF Munir stresses need for maintaining peace and ceasefire by all parties, says PMO statement
Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal/NewsDesk)-Pakistan’s civil and military leadership reaffirmed their commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran for a peaceful, negotiated resolution of tensions.
The statement came after a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad, according to an official release issued on Thursday.

During the meeting, both leaders reviewed progress on Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at promoting lasting regional peace. They expressed satisfaction over the recent de-escalation and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and a ceasefire by all sides.

The leadership also appreciated the restraint shown by all parties and reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to facilitate dialogue, offering full support to help both countries reach a peaceful settlement through negotiations.
