Pakistan's Civil and Military Leadership Unite to Push for Lasting Peace in the Region

Pakistan – (Web Desk) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, met Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday for an important stocktaking session on Pakistan’s ongoing peace efforts in the region.

Both leaders were broadly satisfied with the progress made so far, particularly the significant reduction in tensions achieved through Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement. They jointly underscored the importance of all parties continuing to honour the ceasefire and maintaining the current calm.

The PM and Field Marshal warmly acknowledged the maturity and restraint shown by all sides involved, reaffirming that Pakistan stands ready to extend its fullest support to both parties as they work toward a peaceful, negotiated resolution of their differences.

PM Shehbaz took the opportunity to commend all stakeholders for their genuine commitment to the peace process and wished them well on this hopeful journey. He also renewed Pakistan’s warm invitation to the incoming delegations, personally assuring them of the country’s highest regard, hospitality, and unwavering support throughout the talks.

This high-level meeting further underlines Pakistan’s growing stature as a trusted and effective bridge-builder, having played a pivotal role in bringing the United States and Iran back from the brink and steering both nations toward the negotiating table.
