Karachi Matric Exams Rescheduled to April 10 After Delay

Private Schools Raised Concerns Over Incomplete Arrangements Before the Original Exam Date

Karachi – (Web Desk) – Karachi’s matric exams have been delayed. The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) announced on Sunday that the SSC exams will now begin on April 10, 2026.

Private schools had been asking for more time. They said things were not ready. Exam centres were not confirmed yet. Admit cards had not reached students. And exam papers had not been sent out either.

The board also admitted there was a technical problem. It is moving from a paper based system to a digital one. The new software got overloaded and stopped working properly for a while. The IT team is working to fix it.

BSEK said the exams were pushed back so everything could be done properly and fairly. The goal is to make sure students appear in a smooth and transparent examination process.

The board said a revised timetable will be issued soon, and students will sit their exams at the centres already assigned to them.

The alliance had previously warned that there was still no clarity regarding centres and other arrangements, urging authorities to reschedule the exams to avoid disruption.

However, the BSEK maintained that preparations were complete, noting that admit cards had already been uploaded to its website and dispatched to private candidates at their residential addresses.

The board office also remained open, including on Sunday, for candidates who had not yet received their cards.
