Nationwide Measles & Rubella Vaccination Drive to Begin in Khuzdar on Nov 17

Health officials said that the campaign aims to vaccinate 150,256 children across the district.

KHUZDAR: A nationwide campaign to protect children from measles and rubella will be launched in Khuzdar District, Balochistan, from November 17 to 29, according to the Health Department.

During the campaign, all children aged six months to five years will receive free vaccinations against measles and rubella. In addition, oral polio drops will be administered to prevent lifelong disability caused by poliovirus.

Health officials said that the campaign aims to vaccinate 150,256 children across the district. To meet this goal, 227 vaccination teams will be deployed in 49 union councils.

The Health Department also emphasized that children who have already been vaccinated against measles and rubella should receive the vaccine again during this national campaign to further strengthen their immunity.

Authorities have appealed to parents and guardians to fully cooperate with vaccination teams to ensure every child is protected from measles, rubella, and polio, all of which are highly contagious and potentially dangerous diseases.
