PSB Takes Action Over Baseball Federation Accounts Issue

PSB Initiates Action Against Baseball Federation Over Financial Non-Compliance

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has initiated formal action against the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) for not submitting required financial adjustment accounts related to grants received during the fiscal years 2022–23 and 2023–24. The total financial assistance provided by the PSB amounts to Rs. 42 million.

Despite multiple reminders and a final notice issued on April 22, 2026, the federation failed to present essential financial documentation, including vouchers, receipts, invoices, bank statements, and adjustment records. The PSB emphasized that such records are mandatory under its governance framework to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

In response to the non-compliance, the PSB has imposed an immediate ban on Syed Ali Shah, Treasurer of the Pakistan Federation Baseball, restricting him from representing or participating in any national or international sports-related activities.

The federation has been given a final seven-day deadline to submit complete financial records for review. Failure to comply may result in stricter penalties, including suspension of affiliation, additional bans on officials, and possible legal proceedings.

Officials further stated that the action may be reconsidered if the federation submits properly audited financial statements covering the period from July 1, 2022, to April 29, 2026.
