Honour 25 Ship Hijacked: Pakistan Seeks Safe Return of 10 Hostages
Somali Government Pledges Full Support After Honour 25 Ship Hijacked Near Coast
Islamabad – (Web Desk) – Somalia has assured Pakistan of full cooperation in securing the release of Pakistani nationals held captive by pirates, after the Honour 25 ship hijacked incident shook families across the country.
Somali authorities have formally pledged to help bring the Pakistani crew members home safely. Pakistan raised the matter directly with the Somali government, stressing how urgent the situation has become.
The seized vessel, oil tanker Honour 25, was captured near the Somali coast on April 21. Several of the trapped crew members belong to Karachi. Their families are living in fear and heartbreak, desperately waiting for any good news.
Eleven Pakistani sailors remain in the hands of pirates. One family member shared a deeply emotional message on social media, saying her brother-in-law is among the hostages. She wrote that food supplies are running low and communication may be cut off soon.
“He has two little boys who don’t laugh the same way anymore,” she wrote. “They keep sending voice notes to their father. They ask when baba will come back, and we have no answer.”
The family is trying to stay strong in front of the children, while silently falling apart inside. They have urged the Pakistani government and the public to speak up and help bring the crew home.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs has confirmed the hijacking. Federal Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has asked relevant agencies for a full report and ordered them to speed up recovery efforts. Authorities are in constant contact with all related departments and are working through the Foreign Office to push for a diplomatic solution.
