Swat Operation Kills Militants, Elite Force Officer Martyred

SWAT: (Staff Reporter) – A joint operation conducted by Swat Police, Upper Swat Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) against suspected militants in Upper Swat resulted in the deaths of several militants and injuries to others, while an Elite Force constable was martyred during an exchange of fire, police said on Wednesday.

The operation is underway in the Shalkho Sar area of Upper Swat, where security forces launched a coordinated action against suspected militants. According to police officials, multiple militants have been killed and several others wounded during the encounter.

During the intense exchange of gunfire, Elite Force constable Gulfam lost his life while carrying out his duty. Police officials paid tribute to his sacrifice, stating that he embraced martyrdom while working to restore peace and security in the area.

A police spokesperson said that security forces have surrounded the militants and the operation is progressing successfully. Officials added that the militants have suffered significant losses as the security cordon remains active.

The operation is being supervised by Malakand Regional Police Officer (RPO) along with District Police Officers of Swat and Upper Swat. Police reiterated their resolve to eliminate threats and maintain peace in the region, emphasizing that all necessary measures will be taken to protect public safety.
